The Wenches in the Rover

The Rover
Being a member of the drama department has obviously made me more partial to the productions we go to see and is probably the main reason I am such a fan of the drama unit. So we saw the Rover today, and I thought to myself, "Thank the Lord, I have something to write about in my blog tonight that is completely related to school!" I know most of us aren't completely interested in Shakespearean stories and plays, and I'm not saying I thought the play overall was fantastic, but I think after having read Hamlet recently and really trying to understand that, I understood the characters in this play better. There were times when I knew what the characters were talking about and I could understand the humor so I was the only one laughing in the audience. (Okay, so sometimes I laughed because a few of my really close friends were on stage and that's always funny, but I was still kind of proud of myself!) To be honest, I think I really liked the plot in the play. When I was thinking about it later, I thought a more modernized version of the story would be super cool and interesting to see. I know the kids in the show had a hard time with the show because for the longest time they didn't even know what they were saying, and up until a few days before the show went up they still hadn't memorized their lines! The show was definitely not the best I've ever seen a Dunbar group put together, but as a senior member of the group I am still super proud of the group for having pulled it out at the last minute. I also got a renewed excitement for The Little Mermaid Jr. in which I am  Sebastian and Thoroughly Modern Millie in the spring :)
